Baseball in Moapa

Dark clouds and the sun provided this rainbow over Moapa Valley during the JV game on Wednesday. Although the skies threatened to unload, it never rained. That was a great improvement on the week before when the team traveled to San Juan county. They played a doubleheader in freezing wind in Monticello and the next day woke to find the San Juan field covered in snow. The game was almost canceled, but after lunch (and a couple of hours of sun) the snow was pretty well gone and the game went on. Kanab took all three games on the road trip. Danny even got in the varsity game in Monticello.

Coming in from right field.

Stealing second!

Looking toward home.
In the JV game at Moapa, Danny played four innings in right field. He ran the count to 3 and 2 on two trips to the plate, only to be called out on the next pitched. I think the umps were homers! He did get hit on his last at bat, so went to first, eventually being thrown out at home on a close play. It was a windy and dusty day for baseball, but Peg and I had a good time watching Dan and the few Kanab fans that made the trip.
