Once again we have Matt in a boot. This time they took a plug of bone and cartilage from his knee and, after removing the dead piece in his ankle, placed the autograft in its stead. He can't put any weight on it for six weeks, and we hope and pray it takes.
The screws (there are two there, superimposed) reattach a chunk of bone that was removed to give access to the damaged area. Just to the right of the screws, on the upper left part of the ankle bone, is where the graft went in. You can barely see where, the adaptation was so good.
He's been in quite a bit of pain with this, mostly in the knee, the donor site. Misters Lortab, Phenergan, and Ibuprofen have been making regular visits to comfort him.

Wow. That is a loooooong screw!! Glad that you guys got the eagle project done. When it gets warm again, in like 5-6 months, I will have to hike up there to check it out! Oh and way cute pic of Lawson eating spaghetti!
