Over the weekend we traveled to Farmington for Grace's baptism. Eight years old already! What will the next eight years bring? Jared better have a baseball bat behind the door and a shotgun ready in the closet! She is rapidly growing up into a beautiful young lady, both in body and spirit.
The service was wonderful and both her grandmas gave wonderful talks, Susan on baptism and Peggy on the Holy Ghost. Besides Adrianne's parents, her sister Laura was there with her three kids and Danny and Matt and Cassi came with us. Several members of the ward came to support Grace as well.
Baptisms bring together family and friends and remind us of not only our own baptismal covenants, but the other covenants available to us that bind us together in eternal families, not only our own family, but the far-reaching strands of in-laws that strengthens and broadens our familial associations. But baptism is where it starts, where Grace has made a decision that allows her to go forward and receive those other covenants and truly become a part of her celestial heritage. Way to go Gracey! And way to go Jared and Adrianne for bringing her to this part of her life prepared to be baptized.
There will be some more posts on our trip, but I wanted to get this up quickly.
