These past few days we are seeing a change in the skyline of Kanab as the old high school is being razed to make way for a community center. Tom's office is gone, along with the school store and several classrooms. The flagpole where played "To The Colors" every morning is no more. I'm not sure how that particular bit of patriotism would go over today!
I went from 6th thru 12th grades there and can still remember most of my teachers. Me. Black in math, Mrs. Penny in American events, Garth Penny in Driver's Ed. Coach Hafen, Wayne Robinson, Mrs. Beesley (I never did have Dick), John and Mrs. Burgoyne, Rob Hamblin, Mr. Hicks, Mrs. Morrel, Mr Pugh and Boss Vance. I'm sure there were more!
