Eight years (!) ago we took the railroad from Durango to Silverton. While we were in Denver last week we took a similar but shorter trip on the Georgetown Loop railroad. We left from the Silver Plume station and took the train down to Georgetown and back.
On the way we were dropped off at the Everett Mine where we took a short tour and had a chance to pan for gold.
