Spring brings blossoms, wind, taxes, spring fever, and the sounds of baseball. Aluminum bats, used almost everywhere but in the major leagues, make a distinctive sound when hitting the ball, decidedly different than the THWACK of a traditional wooden bat.
This year spring also brought us the sound of Danny declaring he wanted to play baseball. So now he is a Kanab Cowboy baseballer. There's about 20+ boys on the team and he is one of three freshmen to play this year. This weekend was the Chuckwagon Classic and though he didn't get in any games (he may have to wait awhile for that) he really enjoys being part of the team.
Kanab got off to a bad start by losing their first game to Manti. That put them in the loser's bracket and had to play today's games in Fredonia. They beat Fredonia this morning and then played for the consolation win against South Sevier. The Cowboy bats finally came awake as they pounded the Rams 10-0.
