Last Saturday some men gathered to help finish gutting the inside of the old church building. I wonder how many Young Women recited the Young Women Theme from this wall as they began their class each Sunday?
The old floor between the upper and lower levels is being removed to make way for a new one. The shaft for the elevator has already been constructed and Brother Gurr is using a chain saw to remove the last of the old floor. Kind of like painting yourself into a corner, he's getting short on working space! All the walls have been lined with rebar and then shotcreted to help reinforce the building.
The above two photos show the exterior walls and the layer of reinforcing shotcrete.
One last interior wall was proving a little stubborn, but a chain hooked to a backhoe solved that problem!
