Just north of Spello is Assisi, home of the famous St. Francis of Assisi. St. Francis, who was born and died in Assisi, was the founder of the Franciscan Order. The large building on the left of the picture is the Basilica of St. Francis.
Admittance to the Basilica required a security checkpoint. Peggy and the Italian Army had a little bit of a communication problem!
