One of the highlights of the trip for me was the visit to the Coliseum. Just imagine the thousands and thousands of people that once filled the stands. Just like in the world of today where thousands and thousands of people watch sporting events like soccer, football, and baseball, or mega concerts. Well, not just like today, then the sport usually involved large numbers of deaths.
Once the enemy of Christians, Rome has been a Christian city longer than it was ever pagan.
