A Wedding By The Sea

Last week Peggy was able to fly to Florida with Carlene to attend the wedding of Michelle, Kim and Marilyn's daughter. Shell and Bill came in from North Carolina, and, of course, Kim and Marilyn were able to take a little break from their missionary labors in Washington to be there.

Kim and the bride.

Michelle's brother, Mike, got a license online to marry them, and so did the honors in this lovely setting by the Gulf of Mexico. That's Mike on the left. As you can tell, it was a rather informal wedding.

Sidetrail: Uncle Kim was stationed at Eglin Air Force Base near Fort Walton Beach, Florida during the growing up years of Michelle and Mike. They were there the same time we were going to school in Cleveland, Ohio, and Peggy and the boys and I spent a couple of Christmas vacations there.

Here's a picture of that bygone era taken in the same general vicinity as the wedding. I'm thinking this is December, 1979. I'm holding Andy, who is nearly 5 months old, that's Jared stooped over playing in the sand, and behind him is Michelle and Marilyn.
