Tragedy In Kane County

On the afternoon of Thursday, August 26, Brian Harris, a deputy with the Kane County Sheriff's Department, was shot and killed while trying to apprehend a burglary suspect. After a massive, four day manhunt, the 23-year old suspect was captured without incident very early Monday morning.

A memorial was held that evening on the grounds of the courthouse to remember and honor Deputy Harris for his nearly 14 years of service to Kane County, as well as his four years in the Army (he participated in Operation Desert Storm).

Several hundred people turned out to pay their respects, not only to the fallen officer, but to his family and the hundreds of law enforcement officers that participated in the search.

Josh has been assigned to drive down for the motorcade. If you see it, look for a West Valley car.
